Booking into GHL calendar without contact ID?

Hey, my clients wants a virtual receptionist to book appointments in to their Google Calendar. I was planning on using GHL as an intermediary and just syncing the calendars, that way he can still see all his appointments inside our interface. But from what I can tell I can book appointments using GHL's API without a contact ID, so how do I book a new caller in over the phone if there isn't an existing contact?

Or do I just have to add a create contact node in the workflow before running the HTTP request to book them in?
