Credit Dispute Process (Step by Step)
This is what I do daily when I help people fix their credit reports. It's a lot of steps, but worth it. 1. Understand Your Credit Report Before you dispute anything, you need to know exactly what’s on your report. Review it carefully here:👉 Understand Your Credit Report. https://www.skool.com/advance-revival-4777/classroom/36b2f111?md=1d1fa1b8e0ea4b92a36c67cf32d3c225 2. Dispute Personal Information Ensure that your name, address, and other personal details are accurate. If you see errors, dispute them right away. This can even be done by phone.👉 Dispute Personal Information https://www.skool.com/advance-revival-4777/classroom/36b2f111?md=1d1fa1b8e0ea4b92a36c67cf32d3c225 3. Prepare Your Dispute Letter - Type your letter, but do not print it — it must be handwritten.👉 Letter Guidance ⚠️ Important: Always use the letter template that matches the type of negative item you are disputing. For example: - Closed accounts with late payments → use one template - You want to delete the account - Open accounts with late payments → use a different template - You want to keep it open, but update to current, THAT WAY you can keep the history https://www.skool.com/advance-revival-4777/classroom/ef9e899c?md=d20142ea88d64293b8e2961b40fbd06f 4. How to Write and Send the Letter - Write the dispute letter in red ink or with a thick ballpoint pen on paper. - Attach the following: Valid proof of ID, Utility bill, Signed SSN card, and printed picture of credit report.
🔎🕵️ Find errors in your credit report
That’s 1 in 5 reports showing wrong info that can unfairly drop a score. Common mistakes to look for include wrong credit limits, duplicate accounts, and outdated negatives. Lenders won’t fix this for you, it’s on you to catch it. Action steps: 1️⃣ Pull all three reports (Experian, Equifax, TransUnion) 2️⃣ Check every line for accuracy 3️⃣ Dispute anything incorrect or outdated Comment “Cleaned” once you’ve checked, and make sure lenders see your real score. 📍 Want me to help you check?
