The Behavior Wasn't What We Thought
One of the best things I did before my child's IEP meeting was document one specific behavior consistently. What looked like "not following directions" was actually overwhelm when too many steps were given at once. Once I had examples and patterns documented, the conversation shifted from behavior concerns to support solutions. Documentation doesn't have to be complicated. It just has to show the pattern. What's one behavior you've noticed that you wish the school understood better?
