Actors Wisdom for Wednesdays!
It's about walking into the room with ownership, not desperation. When one stops trying to get the job and instead focus on delivering their version of the character, they shift the power dynamic — they are offering something, not begging for approval. That “fuck it” attitude isn’t careless — it’s confident. It’s trusting one's instincts, committing fully to one's choices, and understanding that the right roles will align with who we genuinely are, not who we're trying to be.

Quote from Uta Hagen
The more an actor develops a full sense of his own identity, the more his scope and capacity for identification with other characters than his own will be made possible. - Uta Hagen from her book “Respect for Acting”
Actors Wisdom for Wednesdays!
The shift from performance to presence. Describing the moment an actor stops trying to “get it right” and instead allows genuine curiosity, empathy and personal truth to blur the line between themselves and the character — not imitating a life, but briefly living inside it.
