Today, people all over the world are talking about the earth. But as believers, we don’t just see the earth as something to use. We see it as something God created, entrusted, and called good.
“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it…” (Psalm 24:1)
From the very beginning, God gave mankind responsibility. To steward it. To care for it. To cultivate what He created (Genesis 2:15).
This isn’t about elevating creation above the Creator. It’s about honoring the One who made it. Creation points back to Him.
“The heavens declare the glory of God…” (Psalm 19:1)
Every sunrise, every tree, and every breath of fresh air… it all reveals His nature.
But here’s what matters most… We don’t worship the earth. We worship the God who made it. And while we are called to care for what He created, we’re also called to remember that this world is not our final home (Hebrews 13:14).
There is a new heaven and a new earth coming (Revelation 21:1).
So today is a good day to be thankful, be mindful, and be responsible. But most importantly, be in awe of the Creator.
Take a moment today:
What is something in creation that reminds you of God?
