🌳 KNOW THYSELF: THE FRUIT NEVER LIES🌳
KNOW THYSELF: THE FRUIT NEVER LIES"Every tree is known by its own fruit." — Luke 6:44🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳 🌳🌳🌳 🌳🌳 🌳 🌳🌳One of mankind's greatest fears is not darkness, failure, or even death—it is facing their own reflection.
What is truly inside a person will eventually reveal itself through their words, actions, choices, relationships, and the effect they have on others. The heart is a hidden garden, but the fruit growing from it is visible for all to see.
The Bible teaches that a tree cannot hide what kind of tree it is. Good roots produce good fruit. Corrupt roots produce corrupt fruit. What lives within the Mind, Body, Soul, and Spirit eventually manifests outwardly.
Jesus said:
"A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil." (Luke 6:45)
If a person's inner nature is rooted in pride, envy, hatred, destruction, or rebellion, their words will carry those same seeds. Their actions will mirror what dwells within. The enemy often wears people as costumes, influencing those who willingly submit to darkness, division, deception, and destruction.
Jesus described the adversary this way:
"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy." (John 10:10)
When a person's heart agrees with the works of darkness, their fruit reflects the nature of the one they are following.
But when a person walks with God, the fruit changes.
Love.Joy.Peace.Patience.Kindness.Goodness.Faithfulness.Gentleness.Self-control. The fruit reveals the root.
The Two TreesIn the Garden of Eden stood two significant trees:
• The Tree of Life• The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil
One represented dependence upon God and life through Him.
The other represented choosing self-rule apart from God.
Humanity still stands before these two paths every day.
Will we follow God's wisdom or our own?
The Fig TreeJesus once encountered a fig tree full of leaves but lacking fruit. Though it appeared healthy outwardly, it produced nothing useful.
The Lord cursed the tree, and it withered. (Matthew 21:18-22)
This serves as a warning against outward appearances without inward transformation. God is not seeking leaves alone. He is looking for fruit.
Many appear spiritual on the outside while remaining unchanged on the inside.
Fruit exposes reality.
Mind, Body, Soul, and SpiritEach person contains different dimensions of existence:
Mind — thoughts, reasoning, imagination.
Body — physical desires, appetites, actions.
Soul — personality, emotions, will.
Spirit — the place designed for communion with God.
The flesh and spirit continually oppose one another.
"The flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh." (Galatians 5:17)
The body may desire one thing while the spirit calls for another. This internal conflict reveals who we choose to serve.
How Are God's Children Recognized?Jesus made it simple:
"By their fruits ye shall know them." (Matthew 7:16)
Not by titles.
Not by appearances.
Not by popularity.
Not by claims.
By fruit.
A person's fruit reveals their root, and their root reveals their source.
The condition of the inner man will always be displayed by the outer life.
Know thyself.
Examine thyself.
Test the fruit.
For what is hidden in the heart eventually speaks through the mouth, walks through the feet, works through the hands, and touches every life around it.
The fruit never lies.
InspirationThe Bible repeatedly teaches that the inner condition of a person determines their outward behavior. The heart, mind, soul, and spirit all influence how someone speaks, acts, loves, serves, or harms others. Scripture calls believers to examine themselves honestly before God because self-awareness and repentance are the beginning of transformation.

Before anyone can truly know God, they must be willing to face themselves. Scripture repeatedly teaches that what is hidden within a person will eventually be revealed outwardly. The heart is the root system of life, and everything else—our thoughts, words, actions, relationships, habits, and decisions—is fruit growing from that root.
KNOW THYSELF: THE FRUIT REVEALS THE ROOTKNOW THYSELF: THE FRUIT REVEALS THE ROOTThe Hidden Man and the Visible LifeMany people spend their lives trying to manage appearances while neglecting the condition of their inner being. Yet God does not judge as man judges.
"For the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart." (1 Samuel 16:7)
The heart is the control center of a person's life. Whatever fills the heart eventually flows into thoughts, speech, behavior, and influence.
Jesus taught:
"Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." (Matthew 12:34)
A person's words are often a window into their spiritual condition. A heart filled with peace speaks peace. A heart filled with bitterness releases bitterness. A heart filled with love gives life. A heart filled with darkness spreads darkness.
The fruit never appears without first existing in the root.
The Four Dimensions of Human ExistenceThe MindThe mind is where thoughts are processed.
Ideas become beliefs.Beliefs become decisions.Decisions become actions.Actions become habits.Habits become character.
This is why Scripture says:
"As he thinketh in his heart, so is he." (Proverbs 23:7)
The battlefield often begins in the mind long before it appears in behavior.
The BodyThe body experiences physical desires and appetites.
The flesh seeks comfort, pleasure, control, recognition, and self-gratification.
The body itself is not evil, but when it becomes master instead of servant, it can lead a person away from God's will.
The SoulThe soul contains personality, emotions, desires, and will.
The soul asks:
What do I want?What do I feel?What do I choose?
The soul often stands between the body and the spirit, deciding which voice it will follow.
The SpiritThe spirit is the deepest part of man.
It is the place designed to commune with God.
When the spirit is alive unto God, it seeks righteousness, truth, wisdom, and obedience.
When neglected, the flesh dominates.
The War WithinEvery believer experiences an internal conflict.
"The flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh." (Galatians 5:17)
There are not two separate people living inside you.
Rather, there are competing influences.
One pulls toward God's will.
The other pulls toward self-will.
This battle reveals which kingdom is being served.
The Kingdom of God produces life.
The kingdom of darkness produces destruction.
The Enemy's CostumeThe enemy rarely appears openly.
Instead, darkness works through agreement.
When a person continually embraces pride, hatred, unforgiveness, greed, deception, jealousy, or rebellion, those attitudes become channels through which darkness operates.
The enemy wears human agreement like a costume.
Not by possessing every individual, but by influencing those who willingly cooperate with destructive patterns.
This is why Scripture warns:
"Neither give place to the devil." (Ephesians 4:27)
Every doorway opened through sin becomes an opportunity for influence.
The Garden and the Two TreesThe Garden of Eden contained two significant trees.
The Tree of Life.
The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
These trees represented two ways of living.
Dependence upon God.
Dependence upon self.
Humanity chose self-rule.
The consequences of that choice still echo through every generation.
Every day mankind continues choosing between God's wisdom and self-wisdom.
The battle of Eden still exists inside every heart.
The Fig Tree: Appearance Without FruitIn Matthew 21, Jesus approached a fig tree covered with leaves.
It looked healthy.
It appeared productive.
Yet there was no fruit.
Jesus cursed the tree.
Why?
Because it represented the danger of outward appearance without inward reality.
Many display religious leaves.
Few produce spiritual fruit.
God is not impressed by appearances.
He examines fruit.
Good Fruit and Bad FruitJesus declared:
"A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit." (Matthew 7:18)
Good fruit includes:
LoveJoyPeacePatienceKindnessGoodnessFaithfulnessGentlenessSelf-control
Bad fruit includes:
HatredBitternessDivisionPrideDeceptionCrueltyViolenceEnvyUnforgiveness
Fruit identifies the root.
The root identifies the source.
The source reveals the master being followed.
How God's Children Are RecognizedJesus never said people would know His followers by their titles.
Not by church attendance.
Not by popularity.
Not by social status.
Not by religious language.
He said:
"By their fruits ye shall know them." (Matthew 7:20)
God's children increasingly reflect the character of their Father.
Their lives become evidence of His work.
Not perfection.
Transformation.
One of Man's Greatest FearsMany fear mirrors of the soul more than mirrors of the body.
Physical reflections reveal appearance.
Spiritual reflections reveal reality.
Self-examination forces us to confront motives, wounds, pride, fears, idols, and hidden sins.
That is why many avoid it.
Yet Scripture commands:
"Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith." (2 Corinthians 13:5)
The person who refuses self-examination cannot truly grow.
The person who faces themselves before God discovers freedom.
Final ReflectionKnow thyself.
Not to glorify self.
Not to worship self.
But to understand what is operating within you.
For whatever rules the heart eventually rules the life.
The fruit reveals the root.
The root reveals the source.
And the source reveals the kingdom being served.
Every day we choose which tree we will eat from, which voice we will follow, and which fruit we will produce.
The life we live becomes the evidence of that choice.
Deep Reflection QuestionIf someone examined the fruit produced by your words, reactions, habits, relationships, and treatment of others over the last six months, what would that fruit reveal about the root that is growing within you?
