Vision/Sight Training
Lately, there’s been growing discussion around the importance of eyesight and visual focus in sports performance. Below are a couple of videos that highlight this idea with some evidence. This is still a relatively new area in the sports world and isn’t talked about as much yet. What are your thoughts on it? Do you think visual focus has the potential to become a teachable skill within overall skill acquisition? If a thought has already been given to this topic, share some insights on it. Thanks! https://youtu.be/qIG1ZT3-a_A?si=Ij9MsN1yvywt8Cmk https://youtu.be/-4omOvrRVZ8?si=QutoQ_1T5yq8T859

@Micah Lancaster Does that mean that the only way to train it is just to try to get your eyes on the rim as quickly as possible after a pick up?
Ballhandling: Back pain/soreness
Whenever I do ballhandling, my back gets extremely sore, and later on feels like it overworked. Perhaps it's just an inevitable part of bh training, but I don't always want to take this as an answer. Is there anything I can do or fix to alleviate this pain, in terms of technique and focus, and therefore increase productivity overall?
Game Speed Training
We’re always taught to push ourselves to play at “game speed,” but I’ve often wondered: How fast is full speed, and how do I know if I’m truly pushing myself? Players like Luka Dončić and Kyle Anderson play at a slower pace compared to someone like Russell Westbrook or De’Aaron Fox. So, when I’m training on my own, what should I focus on and what cues should I look for in: 1. Dribbling 2. Shooting 3. Combined dribbling and shooting drills Additionally, I feel that by always trying to play at “game speed,” I’ve neglected learning how to slow down and be patient. How can I find a balance— the “golden middle”—to keep improving my game realistically at “game speed,” while still enhancing my skills through drills?
