Salam! Although I have yet to embark on my journey in better understanding Shari'ah (this literally means "the clear, well-trodden path to water"), I have a great interest in politics, which may be of use to you. Like the other comments say, it is quite difficult to therefore explain religious, ethical, and legal principles that altogether combine to form Shari'ah in one comment, but I'll try! I will remind you that lots of Muslim countries follow a different branch of Islam: E.g., Oman follows Ibadism, Iran follows Shi'a Islam, and many other Muslim countries follow Sunni Islam. HOWEVER! If that's not complex enough, you also have different *schools of thought WITHIN* the above sect divisions: E.g., Hanafi, Shafi'i, Maliki, Hanbali schools of thought - Shi'as follow many other different schools of thought, like Zaydism and so on. The issue that arises here is that in order to enact Shari'ah, you need to study the following in order: 1) The Qur'an 2), The Sunnah 3) Ijma (seeking consensus from reputable Muslim scholars 4) Qiyas (analogical reasoning, used to derive rulings on new issues by comparing them to established rulings based on similar cases. ) You can see why there is a lot of dispute in allegedly Muslim countries that enact Shari'ah. There's the morality police only operating in Aceh, a small place in Indonesia, and then Iran and Saudi Arabia (both politically and religiously different!). That's because of the Ijma process, where some scholars may not be *as* educated or have the *experience* - both of which are necessary if you want to partake in the Shari'ah process. And so, there needs to be a sophisticated understanding of the Arabic language and the Fus'ha dialect for somebody to even pass a hate comment on something they do not know. If it's a Christian asking the question of how barbaric Shari'ah law is, maybe they should follow the entirety of their scripture, which allows for public virginity testing in Deuteronomy 22:13-19, or women marrying their rapists and getting 50 shekels from it in Deuteronomy 22:28-29, or accepting that women are the "weaker partner" (1 Peter 3:7), or that demolishing temples, idols and alters (Exodus 34:13) and apostasy in Deuteronomy 13:1-10 are all valid.
The BEST Way to Safeguard Yourself against Falsehood and Doubts❗
When you become involved in the Dawah movement, there will be times when you may struggle to explain certain topics, and you may not be completely aware of the context. Additionally, a language barrier can be a problem if Arabic isn't your native language. The Prophet (ﷺ) told us in a Hadith that "There shall come upon the people a time in which the one who is patient upon his religion will be like the one holding onto a burning ember." (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2260). But what's the best way to shield yourself against waswasa, doubts and become a coherent representative that explains misconceptions of our religion eloquently and clearly? Abu Darda reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever memorizes ten verses from the beginning of Surat al-Kahf will be immune to the False Messiah.” In another narration, the Prophet said, “From the last ten verses of Surat al-Kahf.” Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 809 I can attest that memorising the first 10 ayahs has helped me dispel truth from falsehood, Alhamdullilah, and I highly recommend everyone do the same. There is no doubt that we are witnessing minor signs of the end times unravel as the years go by. Whenever there is conflict within muslim-majority countries, our religion again is thrown into public debate without impartiality. The Qur'an is our companion, and in the verses will safeguard against dealing with any figurehead that misconstrues our religion for likes, comments and - to put it plainly - "clout." We've got this In Shaa Allah 💪
Blatant propaganda account
https://www.instagram.com/unholyseer?igsh=MW9wa3RlZDNzOXRzNw== this account is a echo chamber for most aethists it's actually crazy how this account misrepresents and blatantly lies about Islam the fact that this account got near 40k followers is insane it's just strawman fallicies and other lies that this account just spreads. The account also just keeps spewing out random aethist debates where they cut off everything and try to make aethists look good and if you look in the tags it's always the same thing #Islam #god #allah #religion #bible #jesus #aethist #quran #evolution like how do aethists just believe this to not be just a account that spews out propaganda this account started in 2024 Nov and it started with a different name and kept putting out quotes it's honestly crazy

The profile picture looks satanic with the inverted pentagram (5 star), as popularised by the Church of Satan since 1968. LaVeyan Satanists sometimes pair the goat head with Hebrew letters at the five points of the pentagram to form the Sigil of Baphomet, so that would explain a lot. Plus, the followers-to-likes ratio is actually hilarious, so that means a majority of that account's followers are bots. Wouldn't be a new thing whatsoever as this has been ongoing for over 7 years now. You can read more about that here: https://amp.theguardian.com/media/2017/nov/26/anti-muslim-online-bots-fake-acounts?__twitter_impression=true
Are there any rules/guidelines for this forum?
Salam everyone, I would love to know if there are some general non-negotiables in this discussion chat like there is on Reddit, i.e., no proselytising, derailing from posts, so on and so forth - silly comparison, I know, lol, but it would be good for some general guidance. Obviously will include some common sense factors like being respectful, but any specifics? Would love to know!
