Favorite "Drill"
What's your favorite "drill" to do to improve your throwing motion?

I have found that just simple high effort throwing tends to help me get a feel for the most efficient movement patterns that my body needs to throw the hardest, without putting too much strain on my arm. My favorite form of this is the pulldowns that I do on my way back in from long toss. I also like grip catch and getting a feel for my pitches. In terms of a non-ball-throwing drill, I have recently grown a liking to pvc pipe rotations. I got two 10ft plastic pvc pipes (for $5 each at Lowes). I set up as if I am throwing a normal pitch from the stretch with one end of the pvc pipes on my shoulders. Then it is just leg lift and drive down the mound and try to whip the pvc pipe around as fast as you can. It is a similar drill to using a waterbag, but I personally feel whippier using the pvc pipes. For me, I am trying to work on my lead leg blocking, which is a byproduct of efficient and timely hip rotation. So, when I am doing these drills, I am trying to focus on delaying my trunk just a little bit to get that stretch feeling and firing my hips first. This drill can also be done as a rocker drill (already in front foot strike) so you can more easily focus on segmenting. (sorry for the long text, let me know if I can clarify anything)
Intro
What’s up everyone, my name is Zack Hampson. I’m a 19, almost 20 year old RHP from Seattle, WA, and am fortunate enough to be playing college ball down at Linfield University, a DIII program in McMinnville, OR. I am currently a sophomore, with freshman eligibility as I medically redshirted last year. I had to shut it down last season due to a ucl strain (marrow edema in the medial epicondyle… basically fluid build up), but I worked with Reeves over the summer and I am back to throwing at 100% again! I’m excited to be here, learn, soak in experience and information, and keep growing! I love talking about pitching stuff whether it is grips, mechanics, approach angles, seam shifting (though I am very new to this concept still), or anything else on your mind. I’d love to help out to the best of my ability if there are any questions coming my way too, I am an open book. Nice to meet you guys!
