Company research advice
HI all, I'll be applying to degree apprenticeship in the financial sector and I am aware that research needs to be done on the companies you apply to, but I'm unsure on what exactly I need to looking out for when researching these companies. what should I be looking for in my research?

Hi Tegan, here is what you should research for any company: - Core values (memorise these ideally) - 1-3 Projects you genuinely like that you can talk about well enough - What does the business do, what's their mission - Market size - Recent news about the company - Key Leaders, CEO and their tag line - How it differs from their competitors Hope this helps.

@Tegan Aikens What I mean by tagline is like the company slogan. Knowing the market size shows your understanding of trends and demonstrates business awareness alongside showcasing your enthusiasm for the role. Yes, your example is good enough as long as you can articulate yourself well enough in an interview setting by making those links through experiences you have done.

Hey Fareedah, it's entirely up to you to be honest. If you have an upcoming event or working towards a certificate, I would post that. If you don't have either, just go with an introduction. Keep it simple and to the point.

Welcome to VS Terry, what excites you the most about Finance?
I got an apprenticeship!
Hi everyone, I just wanted to come on here and announce that I am starting a Level 3 Junior Media Executive Apprenticeship. After achieving ABB in my A-Levels, I was eager to find an apprenticeship in the Marketing/Media industry. I’m excited for this new opportunity and to learn foundational skills about the Marketing/Media industry which I can apply in my future career. When initially searching for apprenticeships, I was more leaning towards a Degree Apprenticeship, but I figured that by learning the foundational skills in a Level 3 Apprenticeship will allow me to gain valuable knowledge of the industry and help me to further progress if I want to pursue a DA in the future.

Congratulations Emily, this is fantastic! Any level apprenticeship is always good and there's always an opportunity to move to a L6 after your L3 finishes.
CV feedback
Hello followed Samis Guide to perfect my CV. I am going to apply for tech degree apprenticeships specifically in cybersecurity or data science! Is there anything else I could improve?

- It would be better to list as many IT and Soft skills as you can. You're better off explaining them in your application answers or in interviews. The extra space you generate from that, talk about your Computer Science NEA so make a title called Projects. Recruiters love projects, especially for technology apprenticeships. - The Biology Challenge I'd remove it, it doesn't really relate too much about technology apprenticeships tbh. - No need to put exact dates, the month and year can suffice. - I don't see a date for your GCSEs so make sure to put some dates there. - The formatting for your dates is slightly off, make sure they are as far to the right as possible. - No need to mention your subjects in your summary. - I see a fair bit of whitespace across your CV so make sure to rectify that, make the spacing consistent. - Check your SPAG. - The bullet points for the first work experience you mention are indented compared to the others, so go about fixing it. - Your bullet points are alright but I'd try add some results/impact to sell yourself. (like some numbers e.g. achieved a 25% increase in x etc) Hope this helps! Just make these changes and you should be set for applying. Feel free to ask any further questions in regards to your CV.
