@Afizah Ahmad Turkiye!
Our first live session is happening this month!
Wanted to give you a heads up! we’re running our first live session at the end of June. Topic: Non-bedside nursing roles. What they actually are, what they pay, and how nurses with no extra qualifications are already doing them. If you’ve ever Googled “what can nurses do besides bedside” and got a list that made no sense , this is for you. Date: 25 June Time: 11am (GMT +8). Drop a comment if you’re in so I know how many to expect.

Hi! A little bit about it myself
I am Yuri, a registered nurse who left bedside in 2018 and spent the years since on the other side of healthcare, the side most of us do not get exposed to. I am not a coach who read a book about nursing. I did the night shifts. I felt the same trapped feeling you are feeling now, the one where you are good at the job and slowly disappearing into it. I left, figured out what else a nurse can actually do, and have spent years since helping other nurses do the same through The Unconventional Nurse (IG: @the.unconventional.nurse). This community is that work with the door open and me in the room. No selling you a dream. Just the honest map, and someone who has walked it answering your real questions. Looking forward to everyone’s sharing and experiences!

Hi! A little bit about it myself
I need your help
For a nursing community platform, what are some of the things that you would look out for or keen on? Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly 1 day a week in PACU while teaching yoga sounds like you’ve already quietly built the life most nurses are chasing but i can imagine the rhythm issue, per diem can feel like you’re always re-orienting. The anatomy and physiology passion is interesting. Have you considered creating content around that? A BSN with PACU experience teaching A&P for nursing students is actually a strong niche: YouTube, SKOOL, Instagram or whatever you feel most comfortable with. Getting an audience would eventually open opportunities for monetisation. The masters route opens formal teaching positions but the opportunity cost is something to bear in mind. Content creation lets you start monetising that knowledge now without the additional educational transcript. What does “earning more” look like for you ? is it income, or is it more about feeling like your knowledge is being fully used?

@Sierra Rediger yeah naturally nurses have an innate ability and tendency to teach and impart knowledge. I wont deny i REALLY miss my time in clinicals as an ER nurse but life’s circumstances change and now my work schedule is suitable for my family. But yes, i feel since you’re already teaching to your yoga class, maybe you can find ways to scale it further? For yogis ( not sure if that’s the right term 😅) who are serious about health and want to have a holistic approach; you can have paid groups where you share nutritional/wellness/additional fitness tips! You got this !
