Copy this prompt: turn a unit of competency into a session plan
Here's a prompt you can copy and paste straight into ChatGPT (or your AI tool of choice) to get a solid first draft of a session plan. Prompt: "Act as an experienced vocational trainer. I am delivering [unit code and name]. My learners are [describe cohort, eg. adult learners, mixed experience levels, face-to-face or online]. Create a session plan for a [length, eg. 3 hour] session that covers [performance criteria or key content]. Include a session outline, key discussion points, a practical activity, and 3 questions to check understanding. Keep the language plain and practical." Swap in your own unit details and cohort information, and adjust the output to match your training and assessment strategy. Try it and tell us how it goes. If you tweak the prompt to get better results, share your version below so the rest of the community can use it too.

@Berry Salem Do you have more prompts too?
The 2 minute AI habit that's saving trainers real time
Small tip, big payoff. Before you close your laptop each day, paste your rough notes, half-finished emails or messy meeting notes into ChatGPT and ask it to "tidy this up and turn it into a clear summary." Takes two minutes. Means you start tomorrow with clean notes instead of a wall of text you have to decode later. Try it this week and let us know if it sticks.

New video: What nobody tells you about working with AI tools
Quick one on something that trips a lot of people up: the quality of what you get out of an AI tool comes straight from the quality of what you put in. Vague question in, vague answer out. This matters more in RTO and training work than most people realise. If you ask an AI tool to "write a session plan" you'll get something generic. If you give it the unit code, the cohort, the delivery mode and the length of the session, you'll get something you can actually use. Watch it here: https://youtube.com/shorts/xTs_OyhH9Fo What's one thing you've learned about getting better output from AI tools?

Very true thank you @Berry Salem
New video: Hermes Agent Explained
Most AI tools wait for you to ask a question. Hermes Agent doesn't wait, it plans and works through multi-step tasks on its own while you're doing something else, even asleep. I put together a walkthrough of what it actually does, how it plans and executes tasks without you prompting each step, and why RTOs and busy professionals are using it to claw back hours every week. Watch it here: https://youtu.be/3hKjO-5RJ90 If you've tried an AI agent tool already, what's the one task you'd hand off first?

What is RTOAiVoX, and why this community exists
Quick intro for anyone who's new here. Alongside this community, I run RTOAiVoX (rtoaivox.com.au), a set of AI tools built specifically for Australian RTOs and VET professionals. It handles things like assessment mapping, ASQA validation against the 2025 Standards, session plans, TAS documents, marking guides and more, all designed to draft the heavy paperwork so your team can review, validate and get on with delivery. This community is free and open to everyone in the sector, whether or not you ever use RTOAiVoX. But if you want to see what it can do, there's a free trial at rtoaivox.com.au. Happy to answer any questions about it here, or just say hi and tell us what part of your job takes up the most time right now.
