Parents Should Never Embarrass You In Front Of Others.
Parents should guide you, correct you gently, and protect your dignity , never discipline or embarrass you in front of others. I see this all the time in my work, and I have seen first hand how deeply this can damage a young person’s wellbeing. It does not teach you respect; it only teaches you shame. It tells you your feelings do not matter, and that you are someone to be put down publicly. That kind of treatment stays with you. It makes you feel small, unworthy, and afraid to be yourself. It erodes your confidence, your trust in others, and your mental health for years to come. True discipline happens quietly, privately, and with love. It lifts you up , it never humiliates you. You deserve kindness, not public shame.

Breaking Generational Cycles
"Did you know symptoms often look different in our communities? What gets labeled ‘anger’ or ‘shyness’ might actually be trauma, neurodiversity, or bipolar disorder. As a psychotherapist and candidate of MSc in neuroscience psychology , I see how easily we get misunderstood. You deserve care that listens to your story not just a checklist.

Your culture is not the problem
"In our culture, mental pain is often not called ‘illness’ it’s called ‘lack of faith’, ‘weakness’, or ‘something you must hide’. We are taught: ‘Don’t speak about family struggles outside.’ ‘Men do not show softness.’ So when you hurt, you can’t even name it. And if you do the words don’t exist, or they bring shame. Therapy often doesn’t respect this. It tries to make you ‘open up’ in ways that feel wrong, disrespectful, and unfaithful to who you are. Your culture is not the problem the gap between you and support is. I bridge that gap. Comment ‘UNDERSTOOD’ if this hits home."
