I'm making a new vision board. I'm far overdue for it and kept thinking I don't have the time to sit and do that, but I'm doing that. I've used them for YEARS with success and this one will spur on success as well.

@Lee Savino I posted a pic in the bootcamp of it.
New Vision Board
My new vision board. I've always had good luck with these, for DECADES...and for some reason, the past two years I didn't make a new one. But something clicked, and since yesterday was the new moon and good re: my astrology chart for career focus, and the new moon is good for new beginnings, I finally made a new one. Lee wanted to see pictures so here it is.

I took my coach's advice and did a launch party for my new book (which is the first book in a sequel series to my bestselling series--yesterday it came out and it was the 20th anniversary of the first book coming out--that book/series made my name, got me on the big bestseller's list...so I decided now that I have the whole series back, I'd write a second series). I handpicked twenty of my superfans, invited them to a zoom party, we sent them goody boxes and did the unboxing in the zoom chat, had trivia games, talked, all sorts of stuff. They LOVED it, and I cemented my position as their fave author. They all have recommended my books for years, bought and given my books away, some have been with me since my very first book came out 30 years ago...it was a way to give back and to show them I appreciate their support. It was an investment but it's going to pay in having basically a serious street team without having to deal with the admin of a street team. And--I didn't expect, but it gave my #5 Sig a HUGE boost of joy and confidence.

Tomorrow starts 10x-tober in the Bootcamp! We're doing a kickoff call to brainstorm strategies and tactics but also take a deep look at our limiting beliefs. First we set our goal of what business metric we want to increase. Some of you have said: - 10x word count - 10x (or 2x or 5x) page reads - 10x direct store sales - 10x subscribers on Substack - 10x newsletter subscribers! - I'm going for 10x preorders by Nov 1. Any goal you set is great! The next step isn't to jump to tactics. It's to calm any fears your nervous system might have about achieving the goal. Will your body feel SAFE arriving at the end destination? Because if not, you'll do a whole lotta hustle but sabotage your results. I've seen it in my business. Example: I was afraid of posting videos of myself because I didn't want to get r@pe threats. I avoided it for years. Then I started forcing myself to do it, but anytime I'd get more than 1000 views, I'd stop. Why? Because my brain thought that posting videos would literally kill me. Great news, I'm working through this. I just posted a video that got 30k views, and although recording the video was like slogging through mud, I did it and now it's a marketing asset I can use forever. Okay, your turn. Imagine you woke up and your goal is done. You did it. You hit it. What comes up for you? If there's any fear, doubt, hesitation, icky-gut-churning feeling, no amount of "work harder" will get you there. Because your mind doesn't think it's safe to be more visible and have more success. That's why you take all these courses and then nothing changes for you. You try an ad, it doesn't work, and then you quit. (You probably will have to test lots and lots and lots of ads to find the 20% that bring in 80% of the money). So what can you do? Here are some things I do: - Imagine and feel into the end result (I'm visual so I picture it as a movie and play music as a soundtrack) What does success look like, taste like, smell like? - decide how you will celebrate and imagine that - celebrate now - write out a list of things you're grateful for (evidence that good things can happen for you) - write out a list of hard things you've achieved (more evidence you can have success) - Tap on it - listen to a hypnotherapy meditation - Go for a walk on think on all this. Bilateral stimulation works wonders - Journal on it - Watch the kick off tomorrow and I'll walk you through some belief busting exercises!

I am a #1 Achiever, #3 Competition and #5 Significance. I realized that my Achiever was negating the needs of Comp and Sig by just rolling through book releases without acknowledging them. Now, for every release, I buy myself flowers and a little gift to signify what I've done. 30 years, 120+ books...and I need to acknowledge that that, in itself, IS a success, even though I never feel like I'm where I want to be.
