The Toughest Interview Question: “Why Should We Hire You?”
Summary of the article: - Be honest and authentic: Gates emphasizes that candidates shouldn’t rely on rehearsed answers but instead share genuine strengths and experiences. - Show self-awareness: Acknowledge what you’re good at and where you can still grow, showing employers that you are both confident and humble. - Highlight real strengths: Instead of vague statements, focus on specific skills or qualities that would add value to the company. - Discuss salary with clarity: Gates notes it’s important to address compensation openly, but frame it around your value and fit, not just the number. - Stay humble but confident: The balance of humility and self-assurance makes your response more persuasive and memorable. Website: Times of India 💬 Discussion Question: How would you answer the question “Why should we hire you?” in a way that highlights both your skills and your personality? You should hire me because I have a strong background in monitoring, evaluation, and learning with USAID-funded programs, which aligns directly with this role. I’m skilled in data analysis and reporting, and I know how to turn findings into actionable recommendations. I also want to work with your organization because I deeply respect its vision. I’m excited about the opportunity to contribute my skills in data and reporting to support evidence-based decision-making that improves people’s livelihoods. In addition, I bring hands-on experience from projects in Jordan, which gives me both the technical knowledge and the local context you’re looking for.

Hello everyone 🫡, This is Yasmeen, I'm 30 years old, I'm from Jordan 🇯🇴, I'm originally from Palestine 🇵🇸, I was born and raised in the United Arab Emirates 🇦🇪, but I've been living in Jordan since 2010, I hold a bachelor's degree in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics 🍏 from Hashmite university, I also graduated from the USAID MEL Apprentice ship program 👩🏻‍💼, which is an experience that shaped both my skills and my career. I come from a large family of 13 people: My mother, 7 brothers, 4 sisters and me. I'm single and am the youngest in my family. For fun: I love spending time with my family and friends ( playing cards ♠️♥️♣️♦️, smoking hooka while sipping coffee ☕), going to the gym to workout 🏋🏻‍♀️, cooking👩🏻‍🍳(especially Middle Eastern dishes and desserts), swimming 🏊, relaxing and occasionally getting lost in a good music 🎧.
