I love calling on communities I've never been to before. Who will I talk with? How many gigs will I book?My usual rule of thumb is for every 10 calls I make, I'll talk with 3 directors and I'll schedule 1 gig. The trick , I believe, is to get a list of communities packed together on a single piece of paper with roughly 30 on each page. Write the community and the name, number, and results. Now start calling... Go right down the entire list. I usually start making calls on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday between the hours of 11-2pm. That's the time when directors are most likely eating lunch at their desk and will answer the phone. Here's my call list. What's your strategy?
