Tomato Troubles
Hi all, tomato's are usually a go to crop at my place and this summer is no different, infect I went overboard and have tomato's everywhere, but there is one that is perplexing me , I think its a Grammys throwing tomato, (the labels all blew away so i could be wrong) that I put in a old half while barrel pot that was set up for my blueberry that unfortunately didn't come back after re potting , it just hasn't grown, the ones in the bed nonboring it that were planted at the same time seem fine, could it have something to do with the Rose mix that was put I put in the post for the blueberry? as the other beds were prepared for tomato's at the start of the season shall i try it somewhere else? any advice would be appreciated

Tomato's are not plain sailing are they.. it's my first serious year of attempting them with effort. I have some prolific plants, others not quite as prolific.. they are starting to ripen now.. but taste a bit bland.. hmmmm PH not correct perhaps..
New garden bird
Had a visit from a new bird species in the garden. From my research it is a Pale Head Rosella. Never seen this sort of bird here before and I always get excited when I see a new species around. Hope everyone had a good new year. And welcome to 2026.

Prepping Bales for Autumn
I like to always be one step ahead in each season. Here I am building soils, raising areas to direct water and store water right where it falls. I do it by cold composting bales on site. Once they age I then plant into them. These will be ready for planting this Autumn and winter. I have been doing this for ten years now, works on all soil types. Have you tried it, still do, had success or going to try? Once they are spongy they are ready to plant

@Marty Ware are you putting these bales inside new corrugated iron surrounds or just letting them spill over onto the lawn making a new raised bed ?
The Hub is Performing well inside Skool Search
I have some news for you. The Garden creator Hub is performing very well inside the Skool search called discovery. Out of 727 results, we are now found on page 1 at position 10 for the search term vegetable gardening. We are also at number 14 for the search term organic garden. Our BIGGEST AND BEST is that we are positioned at number 26 under the Hobbies category. This is huge! New members who are coming in from Skool will mostly look around, feel it out, and see if it's for them. I want to thank all the founding members who have stuck with me here and helped it to become what it is right now. It's still early days and is just two months old now. It's an amazing feat that we have all achieved together to make it what it is today. I am very grateful and want to thank God, as it was him who encouraged me to start and build this amazing community. Lots of love to you all Marty

When is a slug a friend?
Did a night hunt for pests tonight, catching about 60 slugs, some cockroaches, earwigs and a couple of snails. My motivation was to find what was chewing the top of a big cabbage. I expected an animal but it was a very veracious giant slug β€” now deceased! There was quite a few leopard slugs prowling the yard. I leave these slugs alone as they typically don’t eat fresh vegetation. They prefer decaying matter, rotting meat, and known to hunt down and consume the pesky slugs. Easy to spot as the marking as much like a leopard. Some of the bad slugs were almost as big as this fellow.
