Heart Check
Before the week speaks over you, let Christ speak into you. We spend so much time asking God to move, fix, open doors, or change situations, but Sunday invites a different posture: attention. Not noise. Not effort. Awareness. Scripture says, “Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10) Stillness isn’t weakness. It’s trust. Check-In: • What has been the loudest voice shaping your week? • Where is God asking you to slow down, not speed up? • What would obedience look like right now, even if it’s small?

When reading that and thinking of obedience, the following comes to mind: Choose life or death, but I urge you to choose life so that you and your descendants will live long and prosperous (Deuteronomy 30:19). Oftentimes we feed ourselves with things of the world and live according to our culture and society, not by the biblical and God's Kingdom rules. What are your thoughts? Watching on TV, listening to the radio, reading books, and who are you hanging around with? Studies show we are closest to the five people around us. Choose those people wisely. What are you consuming? The thief comes to kill and destroy; I have come that you may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10). What do you choose today, life or death?
Friday Encouragement
Family, this is your checkpoint, not a finish line. If you are still showing up, still listening, still wrestling with the Word, God is already working. Growth is not always loud. Sometimes it looks like staying when quitting feels easier. If you are taking a course right now, do not rush it. Sit with what stirred you. Share one insight God highlighted this week. A verse that wouldn’t leave you alone. A conviction that pressed your heart. A truth that brought peace or discomfort. Both are signs of life. Remember, God does not waste lessons. What He is teaching you today is preparing you for someone you will help tomorrow. Your obedience is bigger than your feelings. Scripture to carry into the weekend: “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it.” Philippians 1:6 Stay the course. Stay hungry. Stay humble. Drop your reflection below and let iron sharpen iron.

This week, I wrestled with the fact that Christ is my shelpered it is he and only he I should listen to. “My sheep hear my voice, and they know me (John 10:27).” In farming, sheep do come to know their shepherds by vocal recognition. They come to TRUST the shepherd and will listen to no one but the shepherd they know. New Sheep in the flock come to TRUST the sheltered and learn who he is by following the other sheep. I used to frown on following anyone but God, but until we know who God is and trust him on our own, we need to follow other people. But be careful who you follow; not everyone is part of the flock that belongs to your shelter. It is through our senses that the Holy Spirit will let us know we are following the right people. Suppose someone or something doesn't seem right. It probably isn't.
