Anyone ever dealt with this company/site? I had it set aside as a bookmark to check out a while ago and this group reminded me to take a look at it. https://carecenterstage.com

I have not. It reminds me a lot of services like Gig Salad and Thumbtack, just targeted at care facility directors. I think it would be fine to sign up. I don't think it will lead to much repeat business. But I could be wrong. I would definitely find out whether they are charging you for the lead or a percentage of the total gig fee. If the later, a lot of times you have to book through them which I'm not a fan of tax wise. If you do work with them, I would love to hear about your experience.
Touring
How feasible do you think it would be to schedule a "tour" through different areas with senior gigs set up along the way?

It's possible. Problem is it's a lot of work for "one-off" gigs. The bang for your buck here is with being able to set up a dense, monthly recurring schedule so you only have to do the major booking chores once per year (and following years are usually just a "touch base" email... "We good with the same schedule next year?" Of course, things change over the course of a year, AD's change, you have to resked here or there. But the idea is to keep the booking and bookkeeping chores to a minimum. With a full schedule you'll be playing 30 -40 or more venues per month. Keeping track of all those booking people and their accounts needs to be as simple as possible.

That being said, if I have a venue in a different city where I want to perform my "mostly original" show, (and the low pay that entails) on quite a few occasions I've booked 2 or 3 golden gigs the day before, open mic'd that night to spread a little word, stayed at a cheap motel and played the original gig the next day. This was with the goal of starting to build a fan base in that city, sell a little merch and have a little fun. Haven't done that in a while but I just might take a whack at it again as I develop relationships with other players in others cities who have taken the QYDJ course. We'll see. If you're ever up in Virginia and have a solid 50 minute plus senior set, I'd be glad to point you in the right direction or even split a gig or two.

One Thing.
If you could snap your fingers and suddenly have one skill set you know you need to progress in your music career. What would it be?

I'll go first. Comfort in front of a camera.
Quick thought - Like often, even if you don't really.
Want to make friends, establish relationships and connections? Like others posts often. If I'm being honest, whether someone likes your stuff is kind of irrelevant. In these communities, your likes move others up the ladder. Plus it seems that randomly the person you liked is notified you took the second to click thumbs up. When I see that, I almost always take a quick look at their profile. If we have something in common, I'll dm them and who knows....we maybe be able to do something together. I've gotten a bunch a dm's from people just cause I liked one of their comments. So. Take 10 seconds when you're in a comment section and click every thumb you can find. You never know. #Quick thought - Like often, even if you don't really.
