Nobody Will Get It And That's OKAY
Nobody around you gets it. Not your friends still living the old routine. Not your family asking why you're up at grinding for something that isn't even your job. Not the version of you from two years ago who would've quit by now. That's not a bad sign. Coming back to this training like an athlete again, showing up when the season's over and nobody's watching is one of the most UNDERESTIMATED things a person can do. Nobody claps for the comeback nobody asked for. Keep going anyway. 🙏🏼

The Benefit of Having a North Star
Been thinking about this a lot this week. Most people don't fail because they lack discipline. They fail because they don't have a north star. One CLEAR thing they're actually chasing. So every workout, every meal, every "should I skip today" moment becomes a coin flip instead of an easy yes or no. Here's how you find yours: -Stop asking "what should I do to get in shape" and start asking "who do I want to be in 12 months." A person and an idenity, not a body fat percentage. -Think back to the version of you that felt most alive, probably mid-competition, mid-season, locked in. What did that guy have that you don't right now? -Get specific. "Feel athletic again" isn't a north star. "Be able to sprint and jump without my body falling apart" is. Once you have it, here's what it's actually for: -It's a filter. Every decision: skip the workout or show up, order out or cook, scroll or sleep, gets run through it. Does this move me toward that guy I ACTUALLY want to be or does this bring me further away? -It's not motivation. You won't feel it every day. That's fine. You don't need to feel it, you need to follow it. Write it down somewhere you'll actually see it. Not in your head. In your head is where it DIES. I didn't leave college ball and start this to "help people work out." I started it because I believe leaving your sport doesn't mean leaving who you are. That's my north star. It's why I show up here even on the days I don't feel like it. Find yours.

Consistency is UNDEFEATED
Was having a conversation with a friend last night at the gym that's been sitting with me. He said something like "these are the days we're going to miss. These are the days that'll get studied when we're great." That hit different. Because right now, for most of you, it doesn't feel like the good days. It feels like early mornings you don't want to get up for. Reps that don't feel like they're doing anything. Weeks where the mirror doesn't look any different than it did last week. It feels like grinding with no proof it's even working yet. But that's exactly what these days are. This is the part of the story that gets skipped over. The part of the Rocky cut scene that is 2 minutes but could last 10 YEARS in real life. The part where nobody was watching, nothing was guaranteed, and you showed up anyway. Not because you felt like it. Not because you saw results yet. Because you decided consistency was the plan, not motivation. You will miss this. Not the outcome but THE PROCESS. The version of you that is still building. (you will always be building) So don't wish past the grind waiting for the good part. This is the good part. Consistency is how you WIN. Not because it's exciting, but because it's the only thing that's still standing when everything else quits. Show up today. That's the whole assignment.
