New Claude Cowork
Cowork basically turns Claude into a hands on helper that can work directly inside a folder on your Mac, not just chat with you. Here are the bits that stood out to me: • real file access so Claude can read, edit, create things locally • tasks with actual agency planning steps and completing them without constant prompting • great for non coders since it takes the Claude Code vibe and makes it friendly for everyday work • can organize files, draft docs, clean up screenshots, build spreadsheets and more • supports connectors so you can hook in external data sources • supports new skills for creating documents and presentations • works with Claude in Chrome for browser based tasks • parallel tasking so you can queue up work instead of babysitting chat threads • strong control settings to choose exactly what Claude can see or touch • early preview so features and safety guardrails will keep evolving Would you trust an AI to work directly inside your files if it saved you hours each week? I think I would trust it with some files. It sounds pretty cool
🍎 Apple Taps Gemini ✦
I find it fascinating that a company as big as Apple, still has not been able to figure out AI! Apple just confirmed it's teaming up with Google to power the next generation of Siri using custom Gemini models, and it sounds like the partnership goes way beyond just voice commands. The short version is that Apple chose Google's AI as the core tech behind future Apple Intelligence features. A few things jumped out at me: • custom Gemini models powering not just Siri but more Apple Intelligence features across the whole ecosystem • potential for major upgrades on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Vision Pro, even Apple Watch • Apple still keeping user data private inside its own systems • Google simply providing model and cloud tech while Apple controls the experience • both companies going public with the deal which raises the stakes for performance • signals a trend where even the biggest companies rely on each other for AI acceleration • could push more cross platform pressure and innovation in consumer facing AI I’m curious what you guys think. Does this partnership make you more excited about Apple Intelligence or more skeptical that Apple needs Google at all? Faster Image AI by Google
The article basically says Google is testing a new model called Nano Banana 2 Flash that's designed to be the fastest image model in their Gemini Flash lineup. Here are the big takeaways that actually matter for us building with AI and automation: - faster image generation built for quick workflows - more affordable model so cheaper automation pipelines - not as powerful as Nano Banana Pro but still strong enough for everyday creative tasks - could speed up prototyping, mockups, diagrams inside automated systems - part of Google's focus on lightweight models optimized for real time tools Honestly, I love seeing these lighter models get better because they fit perfectly into real world automation stacks where speed beats perfection most of the time. Would you swap out your current image generator for something cheaper and faster if quality was slightly lower?
