I see a lot of sample videos around the one minute mark. I read that 30 seconds is about as long as you should go to hold the attention of potential brand gigs. Is this true? Is there a hard and fast rule about what length a video should be to guarantee best results.

If you are working with a tech brand that, for example, has time management as a focus of their app, should you follow other time management posts and accounts in TikTok/IG? I know they are targeting everyday people to use the app itself so trying to figure out who I should be talking to and what types of posts I should engage with to warm up accounts correctly. Same question for say a dog walking app--would you warm up an account by following dog accounts (their potential target audience) or engaging and commenting on other dog walking apps? Does this make sense?

How many pre-recorded b-roll footage do you have on hand on your phone for video creation?

My goal when I started this UGC journey was to quit my retail job after Christmas. Never did I actually think that would be possible so quickly. For context, I’m a mother based in Georgia and I started UGC in late November of 2025. In December, I made $600 and I went through a steep learning curve with UGC as I made all the rookie mistakes. It wasn’t life changing money but it was proof of concept that this could lead to something January 2026, I told myself I was going to quit my part time retail job and go all into UGC. And just in the first 2 weeks of January, I contracted $3k in UGC gigs!! And then just this past week, I landed a $2.5k monthly retainer as a UGC Strategist!!! My goal is to do consistent $5k months and then eventually it would be a dream to hit $10k/m. Just yesterday I turned in my two weeks notice from my retail job. Let this be proof that you can do hard things. You can create the life you’ve been praying for. You can make yourself the main character of your own life again. Be vulnerable, tell your story, stay honest. You never know what connections you can make simply for being who you are. It has been an emotional roller coaster to say the least, but I couldn’t be more proud of myself and grateful to have the support of this community!
