Moving Mondays
Before 2020 I did a lot of walking and simple exercises. I also was running an estate sale business (more on that later if you are interested) so I was very happy with how I looked and felt. Since 2020 I have been home bound most every day due to caring for my elderly mother. I rarely get out and usually just run errands in the car via drive through windows ! So I want to get back to where I was. Last week I started walking again. Trying to drink more water, but not too much because it can dilute electrolytes (the 8 cups a day is a joke and NOT suggested by Doctors who know their stuff.) Today I actually walked twice! My ankles are not happy but they'll get over it LOL. Working out to the extreme is NOT my vibe and never has been really. So starting slow with walking, stretching, and water. What do you plan to do to Get Moving?

This one time...about 1.5 decades ago...I challenged myself to upload a video a day for a year...I basically did that...missed a few days...and accidentally grew a community!

Working on something - need your thoughts
Tons of top selling books have sold hundreds of millions of copies, yet only about 1% of people who read them ever achieved what was in the book. What's the disconnect? I think it's the gap between knowing and doing. Concepts vs execution Let me list some titles to illustrate: Think and Grow Rich The Alchemist How to Win Friends and Influence People You Can Heal Your Life 7 Habits of Highly Effective People Rich Dad Poor Dad The Power of Positive Thinking 5 Love Languages Who Moved My Cheese The 49 Laws of Power Chicken Soup for the Soul All these (except for the last one) have literally sold like hot cakes since day of publication. I could go on for HOURS about how they are similar AND not similar. How some authors were famous and some unknown at time of publication etc. Regardless... I've always wondered...with ALL the copies sold...if the advice/direction really works (which it has proven to for a small number of readers), then why isn't EVERYONE rich or wise or loving or healed etc. Why some but not all? Again why the HUGE number of people who are in the group of KNOWING but not DOING? What is the magic formula that gives some of the readers of these books the result promised? Is it merely timing of the reader's WANT to change intersecting with "finding" the book? If your initial response is "self help doesn't work" please keep comments to yourself. This is not up for debate. These books DO help some...a very very tiny percent of total readers, but it does help. The question is why JUST some and not all? Let's have an active discussion here.

@Sean Murphy I've wondered that...are they looking for the "magic formula" to shortcut actual learning and life experience or merely inspiration on the path

@Carol Collett but the question is ...do you think people buy the book to merely improve themselves, even by a small bit...or are they looking for the "magic formula" to shortcut learning and experience?
