For the exam, if they give you first‑layer line pull and a reduction factor per layer (like 85% for layer 2), just multiply. If they give you length per layer, remember each upper layer holds more feet than the one below it. Sounds like your “16,266” might have been line pull or total rope length—if you run into that again, just check whether the question asks for line pull or rope remaining and apply the layer rule accordingly.
