After reading this article, I surprisingly found out that I’ve been controlled by “food morality” for such a long time. Just like the article mentioned, feeling virtue after ordering salad while feeling guilty after drinking bubble tea: that’s absolutely what I’ve been experiencing. I like the idea of “aiming for food neutrality”, from now on, I'm going to focus more on whether what I eat balanced with my body’s metabolism. Also, I’d like to distinguish food as “nutrient food” and “mood-boosting Food” : every kind of food is good for body, but serve different functions.
🔤 Root of the Day: “phil” (P-H-I-L)
Meaning: TO LOVE! Many English words come from this root. Here are some examples: Philosophy – love of wisdom 🤓 Philanthropy – love of humankind (helping others) 🤝 Philander – to engage in casual romantic relationships Bibliophile – a person who loves books 📚 Anglophile – someone who loves English culture/people Hispanophile – someone who loves Spanish culture/people Sinophile – someone who loves Chinese culture/people Nipponophile – someone who loves Japanese culture/people Cinephile – a person who loves films 🎬 Pedophile – someone with harmful/illegal attraction to children Botanophile – a person who loves plants 🌿 ✏️ Your Task: Choose THREE WORDS from the list and write a SENTENCE using them. 💬 Example (Coach Mat): “As a bibliophile and cinephile, I spend my weekends reading novels and watching classic films, while my philanthropist friend prefers helping others in the community.”

As both a bibliophile and botanophile, I set up my reading area beside the balcony so that I can dive into philosophy while surrounded by my plants.

Hello guys I’m Weiru from Taiwan, you can also call me Amy. I’m learning English not for academic reasons but for communicating with people. Reading is my hobby, l enjoy reading both literature and nonfiction. I hope I can improve my speaking abilities and reading comprehension so that I can read in English version more easily.
