Day 6 of the Hero's Journey – The Ordeal (The Inner Battle)
This is the real fight. Not against your body —but against despair, meaninglessness, comparison, and self-doubt. This is where the Inner Warrior is forged. Quietly. Daily. Through choices no one applauds. Reflection: What inner battle have you had to face that others might never see?

@Selwyn Jensen 😊💙 Agreed 👍
Day 5 of the Hero's Journey – Crossing the Threshold
This is the point of no return. The moment you realise: “I may not control what happened… but I can choose how I meet what comes next.” This is where identity shifts. This is where the Inner Warrior steps forward. Reflection: Was there a moment you stopped fighting reality and started choosing yourself?

Day 4 of the Hero's Journey – Meeting Mentors & Allies
No hero walks alone. Mentors appear. Allies step in. Sometimes they arrive as professionals. Sometimes as family. Sometimes as other spinal warriors who simply get it. This brotherhood exists for that reason. Reflection: Who helped you when you couldn’t help yourself?

I have had some in creditable people along the way - I had a carer that was my neighbour way out in the back blocks of Porangahau in my first years. Who was a physio before marring a local farmer. She help me in so many ways from getting extra movement to more independence - My now wife who came and helped me on the farm - she became my strongest Allie and still is. Family that are allies and carers that became family to this day. There are so many I could name including in my Self development path, as a Spiritual being having a human experience/ Mary Morrissey - Tony Robins to name a few.
Day 3 of the Hero's Journey – The Refusal of the Call
Every hero resists the call. Anger. Grief. Shock. The quiet thought: “This can’t be my life.” This isn’t failure. This is human. The Inner Warrior is not born here - but he begins to stir. Reflection: What did resistance look like for you in those early days?

For me it was Shock - please let this be a bad dream - then I had the rest of the emotions of Anger and Grief with lots of sadness with a heavy feeling.
