Wednesday
Weekly Calls
So i gave the poll some time and the unanimous vote was Wednesday. These calls will be recorded so everyone will be able to re watch, or watch if you miss it. Next Wednesday we start! Bring your questions!
Yes time please. I’m in Central Standard.
I have a question for you.
In my younger days, one activity I always wanted to try was skiing. I love winter—the snow, the mountains and the crisp, clean air—but I didn’t get on a pair of skis until I was in midlife! And I would have never been able to do it before then because I was out so of shape. Nowadays I stay on the beginner slopes, but even so ———it’s only through strength training and mobility exercises that make it possible. What physical activity do you want to continue enjoying as you age?
I lovee yoga for sure and recently started walking again. Also had a year or so of CrossFit so I enjoy some free weights, and resistance bands. I do not like up and down without adequate warm up: I’ll just quit! I usually like deliberate movements (functional).
Doc Wah
I’m a Holistic doctor and live in the country in northwest Illinois. I had a knee injury when my puppy knocked me down. Until then I did yoga regularly and taught. I got certified in Trapeze Yoga and have tried for years to find a place to teach it but no luck out here. I was interested in CrossFit and found a trainer here which was awesome! I attended at least twice a week. Then bam! I was rear ended. I suffered whiplash and had trouble with overhead lifting. Then I got COVID and now suffer from long COVID. Depression has been haunting me. On top of my own challenges my son has cancer. He moved home and we have an amazing team of healthcare providers who are helping him. But it involves multiple doctors visits, regular MRIs, and he cannot drive. I’m exhausted. But I need to move within my limits and constraints and I’ve signed up for other classes but they don’t understand. I’m hopeful this is within my reach and would enjoy a community of similar conditions.
@Cheryl Hibbard thank you Cheryl
Grandma Here!
I'm here to help you feel alive even in your older age! There's nothing better than feeling healthy and fit for life. But in order to do that, you need to move! And moving correctly is what we're about. Our program is for every type of body, especially those who are 50+. We will take you through mobility exercises, which will help with your range of motion, balance and flexibility. This gets you ready for the meat and potatoes of our workout...strength training. As we age we lose muscle. When you lose your muscles, you loose your independence. Don't let that happen. We are here to guide you every step of the way. I've been working the program for more than 15 years and I feel stronger now at the age of 70 than I did at 50. Don't wait to feel and move better than you ever have, start today!
I used to do Strength training and CrossFit. I need more muscle in arms but I’m also getting saggy skin. I heard redheads are prone to sagging skin. I’m an Irish redhead so it’s a huge concern.
