Wanted to walk you through a trade I just took — $WMT. It’s setting up really clean, and this is a solid example of a structured swing that just needs a little time to develop. On the daily chart, WMT just reclaimed the 13 EMA, 20 EMA, and 50 SMA all in one shot. That’s a good sign of strength. Volume also picked up, which usually means serious buyers are stepping in. We also saw the 13 EMA cross back over the 20, which is typically an early momentum signal. But the real reason this caught my attention is the gap above from earlier this year right around $100–101. Gaps like that tend to get filled, especially when price reclaims key levels like it just did. Looking at the weekly chart, we’ve been holding the 13 and 20 EMAs really well the past few weeks. This last weekly candle closed strong, which gives me more confidence that this could follow through. I went with a September 97 in-the-money call. It gives the trade room to breathe and time to work. Sometimes trades don’t go our way right away, and I’ve learned that giving it time can make all the difference especially with a setup like this. Here’s how I’m thinking about it: - First target: Around $100–101 for the gap fill - Second target: $103 if momentum picks up - I’ll look to exit under $95 if the setup breaks down I’m not trying to predict the future, I’m just following the structure and letting the setup guide the plan. Thought it’d be helpful to share my thought process on this one.
