n8n Basics: Splits and Aggregates, No Loop Required
One nice feature of n8n that I didn't quite understand at first is item splitting. I kept trying to add a Loop flow where I didn't actually need one because n8n would automatically repeat for each item after the Split. But if you need to stop repeating every node for every item, then you have to bring the items back together. In the attached image, I needed to grab image Ids from different sources and put them all in one list. The first Split separated all the image columns, but some of those columns had more than one image so the second split ran 5 times for each column and found 4 more items to split out. No need to loop through the columns, n8n handled the items for me. After getting all the images, I didn't want to call the API to download the images 9 different times, instead I aggregated all the image Ids back into one item, and sent that list to the API instead. So Items in n8n can be really powerful if planned for and handled correctly, making for a cleaner workflow without out the crazy looking mess of loops everywhere. Just have to know when to Aggregate (or Filter, or Merge, or Switch...) to get back to one item and one execution per node. Been spending a good amount of time splitting items out and aggregating them back so thought this might be helpful. Let me know if you have any questions. More n8n basics soon!

Upwork Win
I'm sure some of you are here to make money off of selling automations and I'm brushing up on that skill myself to be honest. My background is the corporate world so I'm still learning the selling side of things. With that, I'm new to the Upwork game as well but I had a recent win. Last week I finally committed to sending Upwork proposals and got lucky right out of the gate. I replied to a post looking for help with Monday.com and I submitted a low-ball offer to help. I saw a post from another community that highlighted being "Top Rated" seemed to increase view rates so I figured I would prioritize getting 5 stars over landing big paychecks. But after jumping on a call with the Upwork contact and helping him out, he pretty quickly mentioned that he had many other automations he'd like to build. So I took the opportunity to use the advice I'd gotten in another community and pitched an upsell. Turn $35/hr into a $500 monthly retainer. I'll take that as a win. Plus the guy seems super cool to work with. Here's the Loom I included in offer if it's at all helpful: https://www.loom.com/share/e0ae9b3b409c46d4a9fd338aefdb1189 Couple caveats here. I am heavily relying on a long work history and being able to flex professional CRM experience, but I think overall the strategy is viable. Be willing to start low and work your way up. Include a Loom to show you're a friendly human. Quote from Mark Cuban that's stuck with me: “One of the most underrated skills in business is being nice.” Small n8n offers and being nice can lead to big contracts if that's your goal. Happy to answer any questions but just wanted to post a win and pass on some help and inspiration. Best of luck learning and selling automations! Keep at it!

Intro
Hey everyone, my name is Vlad. Just started diving into n8n and AI automation literally a couple days ago. My background is mostly in video editing and social media. I grew two pages organically to 27k+ and 50k+ followers, totally 50M+ views. One was a motivational IG brand, the other was a TikTok page with AI-enhanced photos. That taught me a lot about content, growth, outreach, AI, and leveraging attention. Right now, I am focused on learning the technical side of n8n and building AI automation solutions for businesses to solve their problems and/or save them time. I do a bit of coding too, nothing crazy, but applying some things as I go. I joined this community to connect with other driven, curious people who are also interested in n8n and AI automation, especially anyone open to bounce ideas, share progress, or just keeping each other accountable.

@Isaac Barrón so far I’ve built a telegram chatbot with web access that uses openai api and a post sale client onboarding system for fitness coaches that generates personalized workouts and tips tailored to their client based on their goals
