To everyone in my job search automation program: I know seeing several rejection emails in a row can feel discouraging. It can make you question experience you worked hard to build. When we increase the number of suitable jobs you apply to, the number of responses can increase too, including the no’s. More rejection emails alone don’t tell us whether your chances per application have changed. Hiring decisions can involve a specific skill, location requirement, level of experience, timing, or another applicant’s closer match. Remote openings can also draw applicants from a wider geographic area. A short email rarely tells the whole story. It is not a verdict on your worth or everything you bring to the table. Automation helps with the process, but thoughtful targeting still matters. The goal is suitable opportunities, not applications just to raise a number. If the same pattern continues without interviews, that is a reason to review the roles, résumé, and application answers rather than simply send more. There may be many no’s along the way. You are allowed to feel disappointed, take a breath, and keep going without treating every email as a personal failure. What helps you reset after a discouraging job-search day?
