10 contributions to Mindful Design Better Living
🌿 Mindful Design for a Calmer Digital Life
In our hyper-connected world, screens are everywhere—at work, at home, even in moments we’d like to call “ours.” This constant connectivity can leave us feeling drained, distracted, and disconnected from what truly matters. But it doesn’t have to be this way. By approaching our digital lives with intention, we can create a calmer, more balanced environment—both online and offline. Here are six mindful practices to help you reclaim your digital space and enhance your well-being: 1. Curate Your Digital Environment Your devices should support your life, not control it. Take time to remove clutter, organize apps, and silence notifications that don’t serve you. A clean digital space creates a clear mental space. 2. Simplify Your Daily Interactions Spend a few minutes each evening clearing out unnecessary emails, messages, or apps. Streamlining your digital interactions reduces overwhelm and helps you feel lighter and more present. 3. Create Tech-Free Zones Designate areas in your home where devices aren’t allowed—like the bedroom, dining table, or reading corner. These zones become sanctuaries for rest, reflection, and connection with yourself or loved ones. 4. Set Screen Boundaries Decide when and where you will use your devices. Avoid screens during meals, before bedtime, or first thing in the morning. Boundaries give you space to breathe, reflect, and be fully present. 5. Engage in Restorative Activities Balance screen time with activities that nourish your mind and body—gentle movement, stretching, mindful breathing, or simply stepping outside. These moments help release tension and refresh your energy. 6. Start and End Your Day with Intention Before diving into your phone in the morning or scrolling at night, pause. Take a few deep breaths, journal, or reflect. Setting a mindful tone transforms how you interact with technology and how you feel throughout the day. 🌿 By integrating these practices, you can transform your digital life from a source of stress into a tool that supports calm, focus, and well-being. Mindful design isn’t just about your home—it’s about the spaces you create for yourself in every aspect of life, even online.

@Anjum Emanuel Yes I'm hoping to pull that off :-)
Hi all, unfortunately I have to postpone this workshop to next week.
Quick desk check-in 🚨
Sometimes our workspace slowly turns against us without us noticing. Here are 3 red flags I see all the time: 1️⃣ Clutter everywhere → your brain feels as messy as the desk. 2️⃣ Bad lighting → drains your energy + mood. 3️⃣ Uncomfortable setup → your body will remind you (hello neck + back pain). A 10-minute reset can shift everything. ✨ Curious—when was the last time you gave your desk a proper reset?
@Hilary L Haha, I hear you! 🙌 Moving always brings that beautiful chaos. Clearing up the energy and clutter will feel amazing once it’s done. You’ll literally feel the space breathe again. Good luck with the office move! ✨
Neuro-architecture… yeah, I know, sounds fancy. But hear me out 🤯
Ever walk into a room and feel instant calm… or the exact opposite, like your energy is being sucked away? Why does that happen? Here’s the thing: your environment literally talks to your brain. It shapes how you feel, think, and even act. That’s neuro-architecture. 🧠✨ And get this—your home can reveal what’s holding you back… or what’s helping you move forward. That’s called habitat therapy. So, quick question:💭 Which spot in your home feels like a hug for your soul?💭 And which one makes you want to run out the door?
Today I feel pants
Honestly, my energy levels are so low it’s achy. There’s just so much noise everywhere: 🔔 50 notifications from LinkedIn ✏️ Clients asking for modifications within hours 💸 Budgets stretched to the limit Add the kids into the mix and the dream list—house reno, building my business, podcast, consultancy in neuro-architecture—and it feels like running a marathon with no finish line. And then there’s finding time for myself… well, truth is, there’s no such thing as work–life balance in my books. Today I feel out of breath, out of ideas, out of energy. 👉 Is this like you too? How do you manage your time (and sanity) between kids, work, home, and dreams? For now, I’m choosing to pause, breathe, and trust that tomorrow will bring a little more energy. 🌿
