This Skool community is going paid (but not for you)
Why? Because I'm testing things out. E.g. Discovery now shows paid groups at the top of each search... Check out how the position of my group changes from second page (first image), to the first page (second image). The only change was making the group paid. You might see the price of this community go up and down. You stay for free. I might remove inactive accounts at one point. Inactive on Skool, not inactive in this community. This community is an engagement free zone 😂 You don't have to "engage". More coming soon. This message might self-destruct in a couple of days. ------- Thinking of starting your own Skool community? Here's the free 14-day Skool trial (referral link)

Good luck! 🤞
Pretty brutal
Gareth just shared this in his community. Basically is someone searches you on Discovery and finds you, signs up, Skool gets a %30 cut. Of course this is if you have growth booth on.

I'd be curious: have any of you noticed any significant traffic increase to your About page since growth boost exists? Because I haven't.... And I know they say you also need to drive traffic yourself but the thing is, I do... and still there's almost zerro traffic from them.

@Marcin Hakemer-Fernandez Very interesting, thank you! So it seems that they let the Meta algorithm decide which few communities to promote instead of giving a fair chance to everyone... right? This is how I understand what I see. Please correct me if I'm wrong. And I have to pay 30% of my wins so they can keep promoting the others? 🤔

@Marcin Hakemer-Fernandez Did they say what Freemium plans on signup means?

@Marcin Hakemer-Fernandez That's great news! I think transparency will help both sides (group owners and members). Thank you for explaining it!

@Marcin Hakemer-Fernandez that was very kind of you to ask! 🙏 Thank you. Although I'm not happy with the answer. 😅

@Marcin Hakemer-Fernandez and what does "penalise" exactly mean? I guess showing our communities lower on the Discovery page?
This community used to be on the first page of Skool Discovery
After the algorithms changed it got pushed to the second page which kind of sucks. The downside: WAY less people join... But... The upside: WAYYY less spammers join... Looks like the real people actually take the time to search more and go deeper. (Clarification: it used to be in the top 5 for the search term "Skool")

That's a nice win to have less spammers! I start focusing more and more on getting quality sign-ups. That's more valuable to me than simply the number of members. I mostly struggle with other English teachers joining my English-learning group. Even in my new fully paid group the first person signing up turned out to be a competitor of mine who joined the free trial just to look around (and posibbly to steal ideas, maybe even content).
