Workshop Redo
The Preserving The Harvest Workshop did not record sound last Saturday. I'm sure it was something that I did, or rather did not do. Like I probably forgot to turn on the mike. I was having a very stressful weekend with a very sick old dog, so I was distracted. Sorry about the delay. The house will be quiet Saturday, so I will plan to redo the recording at 2pm Eastern on Saturday October 3. I won't put it on the calendar, so check in and pop into the live by clicking on the button on the community page. Thank you for your patience as I sort it out. In the mean time, join me on Friday or Sunday for Garden Chat.

A Bit of Adventure Over
Thank you @Coaxli Wildcat for filling in for me this morning. There was a car accident early in the morning in town that took out the poles leading to a substation. It took out the power in a good portion of the county including 3 mid sized towns. Power and internet are back up. I am praying that there were no serious injuries. Thank you for your patience. Here is a pic of the damage from one of the news sites.

If there is one thing that you would like me to research or give my experience on, what would it be? If there was one bit of wisdom that you have learned, what would you share? What is one victory you have achieved? obstacle you have overcome?

One bit of gardening wisdom I came by is that sometimes intuition is more correct than the books or advice you get -- and at the same time, sometimes you do need to ask for advice without blaming yourself for not knowing what to do.
Recipe
I just created this on the spur of the moment. I needed a lunch and am having a chaos day. So I improvised a lunch that took very little of my time. Stove top Beans and Tomatoes One serving of beans for each person Break them or leave them whole, your choice. Boil, steam, or microwave to just tender. (Because I am busy and don't have time to baby sit. I boiled while I folded laundry.) Cut up one small pimento pepper per person or one slice bell pepper per person. Cut in half 6 to 8 cherry tomatoes per person. Drain the beans. Add a tablespoon of butter to the pan. Toss in the peppers. Return the beans to the pan and saute the beans and peppers for a minute or two. Season to taste with sea salt and herbs. (lemon balm, oregano, thyme, basil,...) Turn off the heat and toss in the tomatoes and stir. Serve hot. It took me a total of about 10 minutes of time starting with fresh beans. The beans cooked for about 15 minutes while I was doing other stuff. I'll do it again and play with the herbs!

Growl
Well. I did it. I managed to get into the POISON IVY on the edge of the property where I am developing the Garden For Ability. It might slow me down for a day or two. Yes I knew it was there. Yes I was trying to avoid it. I managed to stick my hand in it anyway in the last bit that I was cleaning up to cardboard and mulch. So, today, I get as much done as I can before the blisters form. Later, I go get a pair of soft gloves to protect the blisters while they are healing. Lesson: Please be careful as you are working and foraging. Know what is in the space where you are working. I knew poison ivy was in the area so I was looking for it and knew I was getting close to it. I got a bit too close yesterday. It could have been much worse if I was not looking for it. It's always an adventure.
