I have been fighting for myself this year, and one of the main ways I've done it is by taking my health seriously. The strange part is that fighting for yourself doesn't always come with proof you can see. For months I looked in the mirror and saw the same person I'd always seen. Then Chris made me try on a size 14 at the mall. I told him there was no way, and it fit. But y’all 😭😭I've gone from an 18/20 to a 14, and I was still buying clothes two and three sizes too big and paying to have them tailored down, because in my mind I hadn't come that far. The evidence was all there. I just couldn't see it yet. A lot of us do this. We're so used to overachieving that we never stop to count what we've already won. I have a goal weight and I'm not there yet, so I wasn't celebrating anything. It would take somebody stopping me to say "you're really taking this seriously" before I'd even register the progress. That's why the theme of Black Women Sell Live® 2026: Fight Back. Sometimes the thing you're fighting is your own head. You can't control everything about your money, your family, or how people treat you. You can control what you think, what you pour into your dreams, and how you talk to yourself while you're building. That's also why I searched the whole world for these speakers. Adesuwa Okunbo Rhodes is flying in from Nigeria. She spent 15 years in investment banking and private equity, including J.P. Morgan, and now runs Aruwa Capital Management, a growth equity fund she founded in Lagos that invests directly into private companies in Nigeria and Ghana. Whether you want to raise capital and one day sell your company, or you want to bootstrap past seven figures and keep every share of it, she's the person you want in front of you. And if you're already at eight figures and you want to be in the room with a Black woman billionaire, that's Day 3. Every woman who is done playing small should be at this event. Some of you already make seven figures and simply want to be in a community of women led by somebody who knows how to fight for herself.
