I just watched the materials video. Do you recommend using damar varnish when painting is finished? I don’t always use it but have one some pieces. thanks!
I don't recommend varnishing at all, but that's just a personal preference. What I do, is I wait until the painting is dry (at least two weeks) and I'll oil the painting. Yet, if I varnished a painting I'd use Gamvar varnish from Gamblin. You can apply it as soon as the painting is touch-dry, which is a big advantage to other varnishes that demand a longer period of drying time. Another advantage of Gamvar is that it's removable with Gamsol, another product from Gamblin.
Hopefully to learn, growth and stay focused on everything each work am doing, perhaps aren't perfect yet. And I would loved if anyone can help me out. Thanks
Hi Floki, we are grateful you are here! We're all also looking for perfecting our work, the search is what makes it worth. We're here to help you out, do you have any questions you'd like to share?
It's something that we expect to start some time in March. In the meantime if you have any questions, we'll be happy to answer and/or discuss here in the comments section.
Hi Everyone! Nice to meet you! I am happy to be a part of this group of artist! Hoping to learn and hopefully be able to give back in some way as well! 😊
New painting just added to the course. Watch a 10 min Timelapse of a seascape from first pass to finish and see what you can tell us about the specific approach..?
