PLACES provides health and health-related data using small area estimation for counties, incorporated and census designated places, census tracts, and ZIP Code Tabulation Areas (ZCTAs) across the United States. At age 10, I witnessed my West Anniston community displaced due to PCB contamination. That experience shaped my passion for protecting children’s health and advancing environmental justice. With a background in social work and child welfare, an MPH, and CHES credential, I combine trauma-informed care, public health expertise, and health education to design programs, influence policy, and create career pathways that empower youth and strengthen communities impacted by environmental hazards.

Black communities have unique health challenges that are too often overlooked. From environmental justice issues to chronic disease disparities, we need people who not only understand the science but also the lived experience. Black public health nerds are uniquely positioned to connect the dots and lead solutions.
