Hey guys! What’s everyone charging? Food and gas is through the roof!. Are you guys charging according to inflation and the economy? If not, you should!
We recently updated prices in Jan ‘26 after not raising them since pre COVID. The old prices were 4x a month for $80 and Unlimited for $160. The plan is to slightly raise for new members twice a year by $5 per membership. So far we’ve had no pushback on prices. Only hesitation comes from staff and some current students on a grandfathered rate, which is funny because the price increases don’t impact either.
@Sam Antonacci For our kids we have about half on the 4x a month and adults we have about 1/3 on 4x a month. It's a good option because it allows someone a minimum for entry, however I do see a number of parents use this as a starting point to sign their kid up "and if they like it, we will increase our membership". It's been recommended to remove the 4x a month from our pricing and only offer it as an unseen downgrade or retention offer instead so people don't immediately go for the cheapest option. The positive side of having it is that per class, it still ends up being the most profitable option, but at 4x a month, the progress is often slow for adults and kids. I'm torn on the future of how to frame it, but will probably always offer it in some form.
@Hernando Thola Once I get some more assistants on the mat, I'll shift there. I 100% agree with you on the spending for kids, especially in our area. We've had exit surveys and they've mentioned the large class sizes and too few instructors/adults on the mat as their reason.
@Hernando Thola Trying my best. Currently offering $15 credit per class to MC students and no takers. To be fair though, our MC is also suffering and we only average 10-15 students a class so not a huge number to pull from. We also try to do the Leadership program by pulling from older advanced students to assist with the kids, but that has also been a struggle.
