Inside The Interviewer's Head
I am creating a guide for interview questions that every applicant should master. I have interviewed trainees at many levels as well as attendings. Moreover, I have been in the interview hot seat more times than I can count. Let me know what specific questions you find stressful.

Welcome
Welcome to Foreign Docs, US Careers Building a career in the United States as an internationally trained doctor can be exciting — but it can also come with barriers. You may be navigating an unfamiliar professional system, credentialing requirements, cultural differences, networking challenges, or English that is different from the English you learned in school. Sometimes the problem isn’t your knowledge, education, or background. It’s knowing how things work in the U.S. — and how to communicate your skills and experience effectively. You don't have to figure it out alone. Someone in this community may have already surmounted the hurdle you’re facing today. He or she may have the information, experience, connection, or encouragement that helps you take the next step. And your experience may be exactly what another member needs to hear. This isn’t just a place to collect information. It’s a community where foreign-trained doctors can connect, learn, ask questions, share experiences, and help one another build successful careers in the United States. Discussion topics will include: - How to answer difficult interview questions - Writing an effective American-style CV/resume - Thank-you letters after interviews - Professional English and workplace communication - Networking and introducing yourself professionally - Understanding U.S. lab and hospital culture - Communicating your international education and experience - Overcoming language and communication barriers - Finding and evaluating faculty and community job opportunities - Relevant current events - Anything that may be helpful or interesting Comment, ask questions, share your experiences, and start discussions. If you’ve learned something that helped you, share it. If you’re struggling with something, ask about it. If another member asks a question you can answer, jump in. Every question, answer, experience, and connection makes this community more valuable for everyone. Welcome to Foreign Docs, US Careers.
