Today was a public holiday. 仕事に行きませんでした。 Shigoto ni ikimasen deshita. I did not go to work. 妻と買い物に行きました。 Tsuma to kaimono ni ikimashita. My wife and I went shopping. 食べ物を買いました。 Tabemono o kaimashita. We bought groceries. おいしい朝ごはんを作りました。 Oishii asagohan o tsukurimashita. We made a delicious breakfast. 妻と時間をすごして、よかったです。 Tsuma to jikan o sugoshite, yokatta desu. What Japanese cultural tradition would you most like to experience and why? Misogi (みそぎ) One Japanese cultural tradition I would most like to experience is misogi (禊 / みそぎ). Misogi is a traditional purification practice where people cleanse the body and mind — sometimes by standing under a cold waterfall or entering freezing water while focusing deeply and enduring discomfort. I think it would be a powerful experience. It seems difficult, but also calming. I like the idea of challenging yourself, clearing your mind, and starting fresh. ❓Question: What Japanese cultural tradition would you most like to experience and why?
