Thanks Kathryn its good to know Im not the only one. Here in San Diego we are blessed with a variety of native and not so native species. Each having different size and shape pinecones. Im sure there are great ideas out there to either decorate the cones themselves or use the pedals for different purposes. I'd love to see if anyone in the community has experimented with them.

Ok...So my daughter and I tried the idea of cutting one of the pine cones in our yard in half ( like a hamburger bun) and placing the bottom half upside down on top of our latest creation as a roof. This keeps the "shingle" effect without having to harvest and re-glue every pedal.
Hello everyone!
Greetings fellow fairy fanatics. My name is Travis. I live in San Diego with my wife and daughter. One day I decided to surprise them by placing a few store bought fairy items in the raised planter beds. I did not anticipate the reaction this would get. It's been over a year now and my daughter and I have graduated from store bought miniatures to hand crafted nature items to create a cozy environment for our friendly neighborhood fairy population.
Hello everyone!
Welcome to the Fairyland Community ✨
I’m so glad you’re here. This is a cozy creative space for people who love fairy houses, fairy gardens, tiny handmade details, and nature-inspired projects. Inside this community, you can meet like-minded fairy house lovers, share your ideas and creations, ask questions, get inspired by others, and join creative workshops and seasonal challenges. You do not need experience, perfect materials, or fancy tools. You can start small, use what you already have, and create alongside others who enjoy the same kind of creativity. Best way to begin: 1. Introduce yourself in the Introductions section 2. Tell us what brought you here and what you’re hoping to find in the community 3. Share your first idea, question, progress photo, or finished project I’m excited to see what you create here. Mary
