I could've made everything completely free and unlocked from day one. The problem is that I've watched what happens when communities do that. Most people join, save a bunch of resources, tell themselves they'll come back later, and then never actually use any of it. Liking everyone's posts doesn't count because it doesn't really contribute anything. Some people respond better when they've invested in themselves, while others are perfectly happy earning their way through the free path. Either option works. My goal isn't to make things harder.
