Triggers
A trigger is a reminder of an old unresolved event or piece of an event. Something in your environment causes you to recall a similar experience, event, or memory. Anything seen, felt, smelled, tasted, heard or sensed can be a trigger. They aren't inherently negative. Something happy can trigger you to remember something sad or unresolved. Your mind is an association machine. It collects and catalogues things that you perceive around you like a web or mind map. Although people try to avoid them, they can be incredibly helpful for leading you toward things that need additional resolution. Once resolved, those experiences carry less or even no more emotional charge. This frees up your energy and allows you to collect the things you have learned and create new meaning. Energy work allows you to deal with triggers without falling into the emotional hole because it's not necessary to recount each detail. Your mind has already made the connection. Energy psychology allows you to release whatever is coming up.

Thrive with me
I"ve decided to use this platform for teaching and daily thoughts. I plan to brain-dump so I apologize in advance for typos and spelling errors. My original vision for THRIVE was to help people improve their mental health through improved diet, exercise and mental health tools such as EFT tapping, trauma recovery, mindset work, self reclaimation. So I took a certification in integrative nutrition for mental health. But I was somewhat disappointed to see how basic it was. Back in 2008, I finally took myself off SSRI's and began my own health reclamation. There was no help except for other people on the internet who were also struggling to get off medication and cope with the severe withdrawal effects and rebound symptoms. After 10 years of antidepressant use, I was stable but still very unhappy with my relationships. I knew I was addicted to the meds even though my doctor claimed that was not true. I had to titrate and supplement myself without his help. I don't recommend it. I'll talk more about that at some point but not today. I moved towards nutrition and exercise to cope with the withdrawal and the still unmetabolized emotions. That was my second learning. Putting aside everything I thought I knew to pursue a new paradigm. I was a vegetarian for many years before that, but my new gym habit pushed me back into meat consumption and a more body builder type of diet. Small protein-rich meals throughout the day. My weight was up and down, and like most women, I struggled with various degrees of disordered eating habits. I am now in my third evolution of nutrition. Breaking down my body and everything I thought I knew, building myself back up with the help of Dr. Courtney Hunt, a metabolic specialist, OBGYN and Gyno and online genius.Im doing her Keto and autophagy group. I started as an experiment and I'm finding many important lessons, myth busting and my own fears and limiting beliefs surfacing to be recond with. I will use this platform for my more personal stories and things I feel unwilling to share on Instagram.
