Who remembers balancing their checkbook? Well, I asked my bank to mail one to me. For me, it's helping to really see my money. I balanced it today and found a mistake... I had made. It is eye opening to write down everything I spend.
I'm giving a shout-out to @Sekou Writes, aka Money Wizard!! I followed Sekou's advice to pay myself first. I believed that I could go on the trip of my dreams without going into debt. I saved with a PURPOSE. Today is day 1 of my Egypt adventure. It took transforming my mind about money. It took changing my relationship with money. It took sacrifice & discipline. It took paying close attention to where I spend my money. It took vision & intentionality. It took a purposeful plan. I am grateful. What's your dream?
I gotta let my bank go! At least according to Ramit Sethi the author of I Will Teach You How To Be Rich. He listed a few different banks so check his list via YouTube. I'm thinking of changing my bank by the end of the year.
I have a couple with credit unions I've been with for a long time and a couple other accounts with Cap One. I've also had investment accounts with Schwab for a few years after they acquired TD Ameritrade (used to have my investment accounts there).
