Construction Estimating and AI
Hi everybody. My interest are more on construction cost estimation. Are there any AI innovations in that regard?

Automated takeoffs are definitely the biggest win right now since they save hours counting items on drawings. The main catch is still local labor and material pricing, so you really have to verify the final rates yourself. It makes a great assistant for the repetitive prep work, but human judgment is still essential for the actual bid.
Introduction
Hi everyone, great to be here! I'm Craig and I've been a Contracts Director for a supply and installation company for the past 10 years. I’m joining this community because I really want to connect with like-minded construction professionals and draw on your real-world experiences to help improve my current processes. My number one goal right now is streamlining. I'm specifically looking for new, highly efficient ways of tracking projects from start to finish. Currently, my main tech stack consists of G Suite and Salesforce, but I’m incredibly interested in exploring how to integrate AI into my workflows to save time and reduce friction. If anyone has successfully brought AI into their project management, or has any favorite integrations/workflows that play nice with Salesforce and G Suite, I would absolutely love to hear about them! Looking forward to learning from you all and sharing what I know along the way. What is everyone else using to track their projects right now?

Salesforce makes sense for client records and contract stages, but tracking daily site progress there can get clunky. I’d keep the commercial side in Salesforce, use Google Sheets for cost tracking, and handle day-to-day tasks in Floment AI. Keeping updates quick and simple is key, especially when site teams are already juggling a lot.

A Simple Tool Stack for Better Construction Project Management
One thing I find interesting about construction management is how much coordination happens behind the actual work. You can have solid estimates and schedules, but keeping tasks, updates, and project progress organized is another challenge. A simple tool stack could be ChatGPT (chatgpt.com) for brainstorming workflows, Google Sheets (sheets.google.com) for estimates and tracking, and Floment (floment.ai) for organizing project tasks and sharing progress updates. Curious, what tools do you guys use to keep construction projects organized from planning to execution?
