Junkers Ju 87 Restoration to flight!
Earlier this year it was announced a Junkers Ju 87R-2 Stuka owned by the Flying Heritage Combat and Armor Museum had arrived at The Roost in Arkansas for the final stage of it's restoration to flight. Once completed in the next few years, this will be the first Stuka to have flown since the 1940s! Another cool part about this restoration is that it will be powered by an original Junkers Jumo 211 engine, it will be the only one of these engines in existence flying, the first in over 50 years. To give you an idea how rare Stukas are these days, there are only 2 complete airframes in existence, one in a museum in London and the other at a museum in Chicago. I can see this being a massive drawcard on the Airshow circuit once it is flying, the big question everyone wants to know, is it going the have the Jericho Trumpet Dive Sirens?

F22 Raptors at Warbirds over Wanaka 2026
Just announced last week we are getting the Raptors at Warbirds over Wanaka! Anyone else heading along to this? I think the last one I went to might have been as far back as 2016, I was booked in for one that got cancelled due to covid, so pretty amped to get back down there😁

Introductions!
Hey guys! Thanks for joining the community where we all like planes, some of us know each other, some don't so I thought I'd start an intro thread, feel free to introduce your self and post a picture of a plane, or your self, I'll go first! I'm Tony, I live in Tirau New Zealand with my family and sell diggers for a job. In my spare time I like to go for forest walks, road trips, travel overseas, a bit of lawn archery, cars (when i have time), writing, and of course check out plane museums and airshows! Here's a pic of the Curtis P40 at Classic flyers I took in Tauranga this weekend while I was over filming a video for the local cadets squadron, and a pic of me sitting in the F111 Aardvark at Brisbane Air Museum

@Angel Ponce thanks for your service and thanks for joining Plane-tism. Have you been to any of the aviation museums in Florida? I'm planning on going to Fantasy of Flight in 3 or 4 years when we go on a family trip to the US.

@Mark Edwards welcome! Have you done much reading up on Richard Pearse's escapades trying to fly? I remember reading a few rumors of his neighbours thinking he flew a long time before he claimed he did!
