Looking for a little guidance. I am going to attempt to weld in a 6 inch wide aluminum strap over the porous area which is marked with the arrow. I would normally send this out but they are behind 3 weeks. I'm thinking 1/8 thick but I will do a short run of maybe only 12 inches. I am thinking of going with 3/32 blue 2% lanthanated tungsten, AC 150 amps foot pedal, #8 cup, 120 Hz and 30 %. Looking for a little advise on material thickness. I would like to build this display to go on top of my bar cabinet. I will be using 1 in sq tubing mild steel, might order it pickled if not too much more $$$ but struggling with thickness for 2 reasons, weight and cost. This will be a Tig project as my mig will not see this. 😁. Let me know your thoughts on material thickness, tungsten color and size, cup type and size, and amps please. Thank you
