Sunday Seretonin!
Here’s your pre-week reminder that happiness isn’t just in your head—it’s in your habits. We had a lovely group of lads join us at the Recalibrate woodland to spend time together for a 13th birthday. When you spend time outdoors with other people, your brain starts brewing serotonin—the “feel good” chemical that boosts mood, motivation and connection. Think of it as nature’s social reward system. Fresh air + sunlight + laughter = instant mood upgrade. You don’t have to summit a mountain or run a marathon. Just step outside, chat, walk, breathe, exist. So this week, trade your sofa for seretonin and your screen for some good company. Your brain will thank you for the top-up. What’s your favourite outdoor serotonin boost? Pop it in the comments 👇

A beautiful float down a river for me!

@Lisa O'Brien my immediate thought was paddling down the River Dart in Dartmoor. A lovely grade 2/3 river with with fun rapids on. The upper section is grade 3/4, which I have not done as of yet. I remembered a time when I was with two other friends and could not thank them enough for being out with me! So much gratitude for making that experience a reality
What's your fondest memory of being outdoors?
Taking inspo from @Outdoor Heroes team building activity, why don't we all reminisce a little and share what our favourite or fondest memory of being outdoors.

@Lisa O'Brien it was a great experience, but to be fair, it was only possible by having an expert to travel with and utilise. I could not have done it on my own
Mini-Challenge #5 - Weather ☔☀️🌨️
Good morning Recalibrators! This week's Mini-Challenge is all about the weather. In order to recalibrate ourselves in becoming more connected with ourselves, others and the environment, we need to get comfortable being uncomfortable. The best way to do that, is to get outdoors during the uncomfortable weather months! So, this week, I'm inviting you to get outdoors in the rain (or what might be considered 'poor' weather). The skies may be dreich & grey but it is so wholesome when we accept the uncomfortable nature of the weather we're exposed to. It doesn't have to be long, an hour or two but push yourself and spend some time in uncomfortable weather! You know what to do post-challenge 👇👇👇

Out in the woods today teaching bushcraft skills to young people! Luckily it was rainy enough that building shelters made sense haha
A little bit of fun - best worst jokes!
It's midweek, the time of the week where people can begin to feel a little flat, so let's have a bit of fun and pop in the comments your best worst joke. The dad joke of all time, the one that's so bad it's good. 👇👇 Go for it

I have a dad joke at the start of each morning briefing with my team. My favourite one so far was: A book fell on my head recently / / / / / / I only have my shelf to blame
Monday check-in
Okay, phew, Monday is nearing its end - how was it folks? Any wins? Any lows? Anyone practice some recalibration today? If so, what did you choose?

Woohoo! Family time is always a win 🏆 I had a stomping headache as I approached the end of the working day, meaning I felt achy as I came home to see my family. Not an enjoyable start to my free time and it felt like I couldn't give as much energy as I wanted to 😑

@Lisa O'Brien quite possibly! While I wasn't at my laptop at all, it was probably the lights in the sports hall during our INSET day. You're so right here. You would become too stretched otherwise!
