Alternative voicing for G7
Following on from the guitar hang on Sunday, with Stephen and Tim, there was a question about voicing G7. Stephen didn't like 320001. I agree with him and suggested 323030. Prompted my comment to try to replace the note you don't like in the chord with the same note elsewhere. G7 contains the note F, so rather than playing the F note on the first string, (fret 1), replace it with the F note on the 4th string, ( fret 3)...and I must admit I like the D note on fret 3 of the second string. To my ear it gives a fuller sound. What do you think ?

Aahh Kevin, what happened? Hope it’s nothing too serious. When are you getting out of the splint?

@Kevin Falconer If you’d like to say that… you go right ahead ! I have a friend who tried out paragliding off the cliffs on the Isle of Wight with a club. …. He was asked not to go back !!🫣😂
Guitar hang 26th April
Hi folks, I hope to record the live chat and edit some of it for upload. I'll be looking at theory in the Key of G major / Eminor. I'm also going through a crappy electric guitar phase....trying to get unique sounds. I bought an old Teisco on spec and discovered my new favourite pickups ! Also, I'll show you a quick and cheap way to get a Rubber Bridge guitar sound. ! Hope to see you Sunday if you can make it!

I think he is so underrated. Such a stunning songwriter. There aren’t many I would consider his peers !

Did you know there are only 12 notes ? And if you understand the major scale, everything else flows from that !!

Look at your piano keyboard. Look for the pattern of these 12 recurring notes....easy if you just look at the black notes...a group of three and then a group of two. Any note is a semitone away from the note next to it....two notes are a tone. Sometimes known as a a half step and a step. The formula for your major scale is the space between notes as follows : Tone, Tone, Semitone, Tone, Tone, Tone, Semitone,
Meeting this weekend. April 11/12
Hey guys, apologies for the radio silence over the last couple of days. I managed to pop my back ( again !) Lots of stretching and swearing ! But I did spend some time looking through YouTube...some amazing music and amazing music teachers on there . Who are your favourites ? Anyway, I'm on the mend and hoping to have a meetup this weekend, if you are on for it. Would Saturday at 3pm or Sunday at 4pm my time ( 8 /9 am in US, 9/10 pm in Asia ) suit any of you. Let me know. I can introduce some less common chord progressions and ways of playing chords. Also I can introduce an unusual, 10 string modified guitar that I am playing a lot these days .. any other suggestions ? Hope to see you over the weekend.
