Hey guys, I am basically new to the group, I wanted to know what instrumentation we have in the group? I play guitar. Is this mostly a guitar thing or do we have a mix?
Cello! (and a 5 string electric Violin that I'm messing around with - my teacher said it would be an amazing way to learn more about the violin family technique, and I'm starting to help out with a youth orchestra, and it helps to have a chin-fiddle on hand.)
It actually is my birthday, but that’s not an excuse for me to skip practice. Here’s when I’ll be online this week, come join: Tonight - 7pm EST Wednesday - 7pm EST Thursday - 7pm EST See you there 🙏
Hi @Kevin Maddox - Happy birthday! I was happy to join you today, in which my mini-practice session was to learn and finger-map the melody line of "Remember Me" from the Disney/Pixar movie Coco. (the slow, tender version.) I'll note that the session on the calendar seems to state that it is 30 minutes long. I think you mentioned you had intended today's to be an hour? Will that be the case for the other two practice sessions this week? Thanks for using and sharing this platform with us in this way during your experiment here! I was able to experience first hand the encouragement that the simple gift of going live with "we're doing this, game on!" had me hop on your co-working wave and DO THE WORK of practice. i could see you there, like, in your terrarium (lol), demonstrating being accountable to your promise to develop your musicianship skills, and it was inspiring, I grabbed my cello and joined you. Where ever you are, know that made a difference to me! (and hey, with us both muted, I can say with the authority granted by me, that you played perfectly, lol!! I didn't hear one single bad note!!) And like you said in your classroom intro video, yes indeed, it was/is very motivating to see you there, as it encouraged me to keep returning to some kind of practice, even though my husband came out of his home office and asked me to stop playing so loud, lol. (was playing my cello without a mute. heh. I then switched to a pizzicato and music study practice.) Fun seeing you out there groovin to what you were creating in your studio! Game on, dude! 🎂 (ok, finallyl done editing!)
