Puzzled
I've had 3 Thai Constellations and all of them have rotted at the soil level. My mix is equal parts or orchid bark, perlite, potting soil and 1/2 part coco core. Seemed like a good chunky mix. Watered only when dry. Temp around 70, humidifier and under lights, ( not too close ). Any idea what may have gone wrong. Thanks in advance
Good morning
Merry Christmas everyone. Happy planting

Bird of Paradise
I've had a bird of paradise for about 4 yrs now. This past summer it has done better than any other. Well, it has put on more leaves and only lost one or two. It has never bloomed, but I'll settle for solid growth first. Since I have moved it in for the winter, it has developed some brown patches on a couple of the leaves. I have it around grow lights, however I have never been able to successfully use them. It is a good distance away from the lights and I'm not sure if they are the cause of the damage. Any help or advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

@Donna Scarborough I've not seen any pests. I have been misting some. I do bring it in for the winter. It is in a different room, but similar conditions. The lights and misting are the only real differences. But, like I said the lights are far from it. You may be on to something with the misting. This is the first year I've done that. I stopped misting since the spots showed up. Thank you any advice

I always love a bargain. I thrive on taking things that don't mean anything to most and make it valuable, at least to me

I like to save, salvage and start new. I do vegetables in season and overwinter in a small green house.
